SHPENDI AND PIERACCINI LEAD CESENA TO A 3-0 VICTORY
It was the third consecutive win and clean sheet for Cesena. After the successes against Vis Pesaro (4-0) and Virtus Entella (0-1) came the third against Lucchese in a hard-fought match unlocked in the second half. In fact, after a first half with few emotions, the Bianconeri upped the pace in the second half by scoring three goals: first with Pieraccini and then twice with Shpendi.
The first half was balanced with few chances for both teams. In the sixth minute, Shpendi tried from close, but Chiorra denied. After 10 minutes, Prestia went close to scoring on a corner kick, but his header went just wide. In the 40th minute, Gucher tried from long distance, but Pisseri made a tough save on a bouncing shot.
In the second half, Cesena started strong right away, and Berti - who entered in place of Saber - crossied it in the middle for Ogunseye, who failed to score. In the 62nd minute, the Bianconeri took the lead: Berti's corner kick to Prestia, whose header was cleared by the Lucchese defense fell into the feet of Adamo, who put it back into the middle, and Pieraccini, on the slide, scored his first career goal. In the 72nd minute, Lucchese goes close to equalizing with Russo, who kicks it wide from the top of the box. In the 87th minute, De Rose, finds Shpendi, and from the left side he put it past the keeper to give Cesena a two goal lead. In the stoppage time, comes another goal off the foot of Shpendi putting Cesena ahead by three. The match ended there.
