BIANCONERI IN THE NATIONAL TEAM | FIVE CAVALLUCCIO PLAYERS CALLED UP

There are five Cesena players summoned by their national teams for the upcoming window dedicated to international matches: Augustus Kargbo and Joseph Ceesay will join Sierra Leone and Gambia, respectively, Cristian Shpendi and Giulio Veliaj will join Albania's Under-21 squad, while Leonardo Mendicino will be part of the upcoming Italian Under-19 squad.

The Cavalluccio's number 10 has been summoned to Sierra Leone, led by coach Amidu Karim, to play the first two challenges valid for qualification for the next edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled in Morocco in January 2026. Kargbo and his teammates will take the field on Friday, Sept. 6, against Chad at the National Complex Stadium in Monrovia, Liberia, and again on Monday, Sept. 9, at home vs. Zambia at the New Ndola Stadium in Lusaka.

For Joseph Ceesay, this is the first call-up by coach Johnny McKinstry, coach of Gambia, which is also expected to play a doubleheader valid for qualifying matches in the next edition of the African Continental tournament. The Scorpions' national team is scheduled to have two challenges at the Stade El Abdi in El Jadida, Morocco, against Comoros Islands on Wednesday, Sept. 4, and Tunisia on Sunday, Sept. 8.

There will be two players from the Cavalluccio present in Albania's Under-21 squad led by coach Alban Bushi: goalkeeper Giulio Veliaj and striker Cristian Shpendi are expected to play a match against Switzerland Under-21 as part of the qualifiers for the upcoming European Championships in their category. The game against Switzerland is scheduled for Friday, September 6, at the Stade de la Tuiliere in Lausanne.

Leonardo Mendicino, the new Cesena midfielder, was chosen by Mister Alberto Bollini for the Italian Under-19 squad. The Azzurrini are expected to participate in the Varadzijn International Tournament in Croatia, during which they will face England, Germany, and Croatia between September 4th through the 10th at Cakovec and Kotoriba.
