CESENA - VENEZIA | MISTER MIGNANI POST MATCH CONFERENCE

At the end of the match against Venezia FC, Mister Michele Mignani went to the press room at Orogel Stadium - Dino Manuzzi to comment on the match.

"We conceded the first penalty, which gave them the lead, without having given much away up to that point: it's true that we missed a few chances, but it was the match we had to prepare for. We were dangerous on a couple of counterattacks: on the first, their center back made a great save, while on the second, Cerri had a great header that the goalkeeper saved well. If the first half had ended 1-0, in my opinion, it would have been a completely different game; instead, in a situation where we lost the ball in their third and conceded the 2-0 goal, it's clear that everything becomes more difficult."

"Despite this, from my point of view, the team came back onto the pitch believing they could get back into the game against, I repeat, a strong team in all respects. The moment you create the conditions to try to close the gap and get back into the game, you concede the third goal and then the fourth in stoppage time. It's also difficult for me to come here and say anything different, because the result is clear. I can't say I'm happy, and I can't say we played a great game, but for me, the boys took to the pitch with character, heart, and everything we had. Let's not forget that we are in a situation where we lack alternatives and are playing players who are probably not yet 100% fit."

"When I see a team that doesn't follow, that doesn't help each other, that doesn't fight, that doesn't battle, and that is in disarray, then I'll worry. I believe that in some games, the team deserved a result, but at the moment, everything is going wrong for us. There have been some poor performances, such as the ones in Chiavari and Avellino. Still, we must try to remain clear-headed and not squander everything we have built, because even today, against a strong team and in obviously difficult circumstances in terms of numbers and with some players not at their best, the team played with discipline. The result, even though Venezia is a very strong team and deserved to win, is too wide. For these reasons, I want to try to stay clear-headed and continue to believe in the work we are doing, because it has often paid off; now it pays a little less, but perseverance, in my opinion, will do you justice."
