PRIMAVERA | GREAT COMEBACK DRAW VS. AS ROMA
A great show of heart from Cesena FC Primavera, who came back against AS Roma Primavera to earn a deserved 2-2 draw in the dying moments, thanks to goals from Galvagno and Tosku in the match valid for matchday 26 of the 2025/26 Primavera 1 Championship.
The home side got off to a favorable start, creating danger from set pieces and with some initiatives on the wings in the opening minutes. Cesena, however, remained compact, and in the 9th minute, Fontana responded to a long-range shot from Maccaroni. As the minutes passed, the Bianconeri tried to take control of the game: in the 25th minute, Poletti tried his luck from outside the box, while in the 28th minute, Rossetti was beaten to the ball by the Roma goalkeeper on a long throw.
In the 20th minute, Roma took the lead with an individual effort from Almaviva, who finished with a right-footed curler into the corner. Cesena did not lose their composure and tried to react, coming close to equalizing at the end of the first half: in the first minute of stoppage time, Kebbeh rose highest to meet Poletti's cross, but the ball went just over the bar.
A few minutes into the second half, the Giallorossi doubled their lead thanks to a goal from Maccaroni, but the Cavalluccio did not lose heart and immediately tried to react. In the 64th minute, Galvagno hit the outside of the post with a shot that could have reopened the match, while in the 74th minute, Tosku tested Zelezny with a left-footed shot in the box.
The Bianconeri's pressure grew as the minutes passed, and in the 84th minute, the deserved 2-1 goal arrived: a cross from the left by Mattioli and a perfect run by Galvagno, who beat his marker and beat the goalkeeper with a first-time shot.
In the final minutes, Cesena pushed hard in search of an equalizer. In the 95th minute, Zelezny made a decisive save on a close-range half-volley from Domeniconi, but in the last action of the match, the equalizer came: following a corner kick, the goalkeeper's inaccurate clearance favored Tosku, who beat the defense and slotted home the final 2-2.
Coach Nicola Campedelli's Bianconeri will return to the pitch on Saturday, February 28, at 11:00 a.m. when they host ACF Fiorentina Primavera in Martorano in the match valid for the 27th day of the 2025/26 Primavera 1 Championship.
