PRIMAVERA | CESENA BEATS FIORENTINA AND FLY INTO SECOND PLACE

A huge victory for Cesena FC Primavera, who beat league leaders ACF Fiorentina Primavera 1-0 at the Romagna Centro Sports Center in Martorano, thanks to a goal from Rossetti, earning the Cavalluccio three points in the match valid for the 27th day of the 2025/26 Primavera 1 Championship.

Cesena started the match alert and organized, while Fiorentina tried to take the initiative in the early stages. In the 7th minute, the Viola threatened from a set piece with a header from Turnone that missed the target. The Bianconeri responded in the 12th minute with Carbone setting up Poletti, but his shot went high.

As the minutes passed, the Cavalluccio grew in confidence and came close to taking the lead in the 19th minute with Poletti, whose shot from the edge of the box grazed the crossbar. The Viola tried to respond in the 20th minute, but the Bianconeri defense held firm.

The pace remained high after half an hour: the visitors tried to take control of the game, but Cesena remained compact and came close to scoring in the 38th minute. Following a free kick by Abbondanza, Ribello rose highest to head the ball, but Fei was quick to respond. The first half ended 0-0 after a balanced first 45 minutes.

In the second half, the Bianconeri came back with determination and immediately threatened in the 47th minute with Rossetti, who turned and shot, only to be denied by an excellent save from the Viola goalkeeper. After a period of equilibrium, the Bianconeri took a deserved lead in the 57th minute: Domeniconi played a deep ball to Rossetti, who controlled it and beat Fei to make it 1-0.

After the goal, Cesena gained more and more confidence in managing the game and continued to defend well. In the 75th minute, Fiorentina tried to react with a free kick, but Fontana was alert and deflected it. In the final minutes, the visitors increased the pressure, creating several dangerous situations in the Bianconeri area, but the defense held firm, and the match ended 1-0 to the home side, who earned three crucial points that take the Cavalluccio to second place in the table alongside AS Roma Primavera and just one point off the top.

Coach Nicola Campedelli‘s Bianconeri will return to the pitch on Thursday, March 5, at 2:00 p.m. when they visit Atalanta BC Primavera in the midweek match valid for the 28th round of the 2025/26 Primavera 1 Championship.
