PRIMAVERA | THE CAVALLUCCIO COMMAND THE TOP OF THE TABLE

A massive victory for Cesena FC's Primavera squad, who came from behind to win 2-4 away at US Sassuolo thanks to goals from Berti, Galvagno, Wade, and Bertaccini, taking sole possession of first place in the standings with 32 points.

The match started evenly, with both teams sizing each other up in the opening minutes. Still, the Bianconeri grew into the game and took a deserved lead in the 19th minute: Abbondanza crossed accurately from the right, the ball crossed the entire area, and Berti was on hand at the far post to head home past Nyarko to make it 0-1.

The Cavalluccio continued to push forward, and in the 27th minute, it was Berti again who threatened with a shot from the edge of the box that caused problems for the Neroverde defense. The hosts reacted through Kulla, who hit the post with a sudden left-footed shot in the 33rd minute, and shortly after, the same striker found the equalizer with a first-time shot that left Fontana with no chance.

The hosts continued to press, and in the 41st minute, Fontana saved the result with a decisive intervention. In stoppage time at the end of the first half, Chiricallo was the quickest to pounce on a loose ball and made it 2-1 at the break.

In the second half, Cesena FC returned to the pitch with great determination, and Carbone immediately tried to level the match with a shot from distance, which Nyarko saved. The Bianconeri pressed forward, and two minutes later, they equalized: the referee awarded the Bianconeri a penalty, and Galvagno beat the Neroverde goalkeeper from the spot to make it 2-2.

The Bianconeri took control of the game and completed their comeback in the 79th minute: Wade, who had only been on the pitch for a few seconds, rose higher than everyone else and headed home to put Mr. Campedelli's team back in front.

Five minutes before the end, the Bianconeri finally sealed the deal with Bertaccini, who, after hitting the post, found the net for the final 2-4 on an assist from Ridolfi, securing a victory that puts them in first place in the standings.

Coach Nicola Campedelli's Bianconeri will return to the pitch on Sunday, January 11, when they host Genoa CFC at the “Romagna Centro” Sports Center in Martorano in the 19th and final match of the first half of the 2025/26 Primavera 1 Championship.
