The second edition of Cavalluccio Day has been announced
A press conference was held today, Thursday, May 21, at In Centro Al Foro Conad to present the second edition of Cavalluccio Day, scheduled for Saturday, June 6, 2026 at the Orogel Stadium – Dino Manuzzi. The event will serve as the finale of the Cavalluccio Cup powered by Bassani, the sporting tournament that has engaged Cesena FC’s affiliated clubs throughout the season via various regional tournaments.
The day will take place in the late afternoon and evening and will open with the event’s opening remarks before giving way to one of the most anticipated moments: the parade of the affiliated clubs that took part in the stages of the Cavalluccio Cup. All affiliated clubs will receive certificates of participation in the event, and the clubs hosting the stages of this year’s edition will also be presented with a commemorative plaque of appreciation to celebrate the valuable collaboration between the club and the local community.
The sporting highlight of Cavalluccio Day will be the finals for the Under-9, Under-10, Under-11, Under-12, and Under-13 categories, in which the stage winners will face the corresponding teams from Cesena FC in single-period matches. Following the matches, individual awards ceremonies will be held, with prizes presented to the best player, best goalkeeper, and for Fair Play in each category. For the occasion, the Distinti Section will be open, with tickets available for purchase on Vivaticket at a cost of €5.00 starting at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 22, while Under-18s will be entitled to a free admission ticket, the distribution of which will be handled by the individual affiliated clubs. Food & Beverage services will be available with the opening of sector bars and the presence of food trucks in the Distinti plaza, while a Fan Village will be set up outside the stadium. In the same area, the Fan Village will feature stands and games to offer moments of fun and entertainment even off the field.
Cavalluccio Day will also serve an important charitable purpose: proceeds from the event will go to the Romagnolo Oncology Institute to support the purchase of a portable mini-Doppler for the Maxillofacial Surgery Unit in Cesena, a vital tool in microvascular reconstructive surgery, particularly for patients undergoing procedures for head and neck tumors.
Today’s press conference was opened by Massimo Agostini, a member of the Board of Directors of Cesena FC, who stated: “This is the second year this event has been organized. Last year it was a great success, and we hope this edition will be even better. When it comes to charity and important initiatives like our collaboration with the IOR, it is always a source of great pride for us. We therefore hope for a large turnout, so that we can raise as much money as possible for the IOR.”
Next to speak was Davide Succi, Technical Director of the Cesena FC Youth Sector: “Cesena is the youth sector; Cesena is the young people. Cesena means being close to the city and to all those organizations and institutions that can do good. At the same time, bringing these young people to our home, the Manuzzi, also represents an opportunity for them to interact with the young players from our own age groups. In their eyes, we will surely see that dream that represents the truest spirit of sport.”
“Building on the success of last year’s edition,” continued Fabrizio Faro, Head of Grassroots Activities at Cesena FC , “we have tried to create an even more engaging and fun day for the kids. We expect a large turnout and will aim to reach even higher numbers. It will be an opportunity for interaction and fun, but also a chance for our affiliate clubs to build connections within the local community. Furthermore, it’s a wonderful opportunity to support a charitable cause and give back to a community that has already given us so much.”
The floor was then given to Paolo Grillandi, Head of Communications at the Istituto Oncologico Romagnolo, who added: “The partnership with Cesena FC gives us the chance to fulfill the role that the IOR holds most dear: that of a mediator between the community and its needs, and the healthcare system and its requirements. Bringing these needs together allows us to create a virtuous cycle that involves not only private citizens but also organizations of excellence like Cesena FC, making the local community an active participant in improving healthcare and doing something concrete for the city.”
“In our daily work, we often face challenges,” added Dr. Angelo Campobassi, Director of the Maxillofacial Surgery Unit at AUSL Romagna, “because, as we well know, financial resources in the healthcare system are limited. For this reason, the collaboration with Cesena FC is a great help to the IOR and the entire community, allowing us to offer ever-improving care and diagnostic tools to patients.”
Closing the remarks was Claudia Gatti, Head of Marketing at Cesena FC: “Cavalluccio Day, just like last year’s event, will be an occasion for social engagement, fun, and recreation for all the kids, who will enjoy entertainment both on and off the field. Thanks to the support of our partners, the Fan Village will be set up during the day with many dedicated activities. It will be a wonderful opportunity for interaction and unity between the club and its affiliated organizations, all coming together to support a very important social cause.”
For the occasion, the Distinti Section will be open, with tickets available on Vivaticket for €5.00 starting at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 22, while those under 18 will be entitled to free admission; distribution of these tickets will be handled by the individual affiliated clubs. Food & Beverage services will be available with the opening of sector bars and the presence of food trucks in the Distinti plaza, while a Fan Village will be set up outside the stadium. In the same area, the Fan Village will feature stands and games to offer moments of fun and entertainment even off the field.
