PRIMAVERA NARROWLY DEFEATED BY SASSUOLO
Cesena FC's Primavera squad suffered a narrow defeat at Orogel Stadium Dino Manuzzi at the end of a match played with great heart and spirit of sacrifice that awarded US Sassuolo a comeback win.
Mister Nicola Campedelli's squad started strong, coming close to scoring on two occasions in the very first minutes of the game, first with Ronchetti and then with Perini. The guests managed to avoid the disadvantage and took the lead in the 12th minute, with a goal from Knezovic.
Cesena did not flinch and shortly after the half-hour mark found the equalizer with Pitti's header, off an impressive cross from Castorri. The Bianconeri continued to push on the accelerator, and in the first minute of stoppage time, they reversed the result, taking the lead thanks to Perini, who beat the opposing goalkeeper with a header.
In the opening minutes of the second half, Cesena controlled the match and tried to extend their lead, but surprisingly, Sassuolo scored with the newly entered Minta.
Sassuolo's formation regained strength and motivation in the tie and, with a quarter of an hour to go, scored the 2-3 goal with Daldum: Veliaj managed to stop the first attempt but could do nothing about the rebound.
Despite the quick one-two from the guests, the Cavalluccio did not give up and threw themselves forward in search of an equalizer. However, luck did not assist Mister Nicola Campedelli's boys, as evident by Tosku's late shot off the post.
